Stuck on the stats chapter of your thesis or manuscript?
I help graduate students and researchers pick the right test, run it correctly, and explain what the results actually mean, in R, SPSS, or Python. No jargon dump, just an analysis you can defend in front of your committee.
Common reasons to bring in outside help
If any of this sounds familiar, a scoped project can take the pressure off.
Tight deadlines
Data analysis usually takes longer than expected, and it often lands right when everything else in your program is also due. Handing off the statistics chapter frees up your time for the writing and the defense.
Making sense of the output
Running a test is one thing, knowing what the p value, the confidence interval, or the model coefficients actually mean for your question is another. I explain the output in plain language you can use in your results section.
Wanting a second opinion
If you already ran something and just want someone to check it before you submit, that's usually a smaller project than starting from scratch, and it can catch a mistake before your committee does.
Messy or complicated data
Missing values, unbalanced groups, repeated measures, mixed data types. These are common, not a sign you did something wrong, and they usually just need the right approach.
Getting ready for submission or defense
Reviewers and committees ask pointed questions about methods. I can help you anticipate what they'll ask and have the answer ready.
Wanting a defensible analysis
It's not enough for a result to look right, it needs to hold up when someone asks why you chose that test. I pick methods that fit your design and can explain the reasoning behind each choice.
Limited access to statistical software or training
Not every program teaches R or provides an SPSS license. I can work in whichever tool you already have access to, or the one your data is already in.

Statistical analysis for research & thesis
Send me your research question and data, and I'll run the analysis in R, SPSS, or Python, then walk you through what it actually means for your chapter or paper.

Testing whether groups actually differ, and by how much.
Regression & modeling
Quantifying how variables relate to your outcome.
Mixed & longitudinal models
For repeated measures and data with natural groupings.
Study design & sampling
Getting the design right before you collect a single data point.
Survival analysis
Time-to-event data, from clinical follow-up to equipment failure.
Multivariate & psychometrics
Making sense of many variables, or validating a questionnaire.
Diagnostic test evaluation
How good is a test, screening tool, or classifier, really.
Meta-analysis & systematic review
Combining results across studies into one estimate.
Time series
Data collected over time, and what it's trending toward.

I'm not a big agency, and that's kind of the point
Most of the people I work with are in the middle of a thesis, a dissertation, or a manuscript revision, and just need someone who actually understands academic research.
I work with student and researcher data specifically
Not corporate dashboards. I know what an advisor or a reviewer is actually going to ask about your methods.
R, SPSS, or Python, your choice
Whatever your department already uses is what you'll get your results in.
You get a quote before I start
Based on the actual scope of your project, not an hourly rate that grows the longer it takes.
Your data and results stay yours
Nothing from your project gets reused, shared, or referenced elsewhere.
One person, start to finish
Every project is handled by me directly, nothing gets passed off to a subcontractor or a larger team. Every table, chart, and result is checked line by line and explained to you before it's delivered.
Your data is treated the way research data should be
Most of the datasets that reach us are unpublished, and some involve human or clinical subjects. These are the rules we follow on every project, without being asked.
✓Confidential by default
Your dataset, your research question and your results are never reused, shared, published or referenced in any other project. A signed NDA is available on request, at no extra cost, before you send anything.
✓Only the data the analysis needs
We ask you to remove or code direct identifiers (names, ID numbers, addresses) before sending. If your study requires identifiers to stay in the file, we agree on that in writing first.
✓Storage, retention and deletion
Files are kept in access-controlled storage only while the project and its support window are open, and are permanently deleted on request at any time, or 12 months after delivery by default. Your data is never used to train AI models.
✓Reproducible and traceable
Every analysis is delivered with the commented script or syntax file that generated it, so any result can be re-run, audited and defended, by you or by a reviewer.
FAQ
What software do you use?
Whatever you and your department already work in, R, SPSS, or Python. If you're not sure, tell me what your data is in and we'll go from there.
Is it okay to get statistical help for my thesis or dissertation?
Yes. Getting help with data analysis is a normal part of research, the same way people work with a writing center or a methodologist on their committee. I run the analysis and explain it, but you're still the one who understands your study, defends it, and writes the discussion. I don't write dissertations or submit work on a client's behalf, and that's stated plainly in the footer of this site.
How long does a project usually take?
Depends on scope, but most thesis level analyses come back within a few days to a week once I have your data and a clear question. You'll get a specific timeline with your quote.
Will you write the methods and results sections for me?
I'll give you a written explanation of what was done and what it means, in language you can adapt directly into your methods and results sections. I won't write your discussion or interpret your findings within your field's literature, that part is yours.
Is my data kept private?
Yes. Nothing from your project gets reused, shared, or referenced in any other project.
What if I don't understand statistics at all?
That's fine, most people I work with aren't statisticians. I explain what a test does and why it fits your question, not just the raw output.
My advisor or a reviewer already gave feedback on my analysis. Can you help with that?
Yes, that's actually one of the most common reasons people reach out. Send the feedback along with your data and I'll address it directly.
Can you help with sample size or power calculations?
Yes. I calculate the sample size your design actually needs and write out the justification, the kind reviewers and ethics committees expect to see before data collection starts.
Can you run PERMANOVA, NMDS, or other ecological statistics in R?
Yes. Ordination, diversity indices, and community-level tests like PERMANOVA are a regular part of the ecology and biodiversity work I do, always with the assumptions checked and the output explained in plain language.
Can you automate my Excel spreadsheets with Power Query or VBA?
Yes. I build Power Query pipelines to import and structure raw data automatically, and VBA macros for repetitive tasks like report or invoice generation, with commented code so you can maintain it yourself afterward.
Do you check work I've already done, or only start from scratch?
Both. If you've already run something and just want a second set of eyes, that's usually a smaller, cheaper project than starting from zero.
Got a stats question that's been sitting in your inbox for two weeks?
Send it over. Most projects get a quote back within a day.
